Austin Mayor Steve Adler attended the press conference this morning at City Hall in order to receive the official recognition of “Music Friendly Community” from the Texas Music Office Director Brendon Anthony.
The statement on the Texas Music Office Facebook post today (11.6.2017) is as follows: “We’re very proud to officially recognize another city joining our “Music Friendly Communities” program during today’s press conference at Austin City Hall, where Austin Mayor Steve Adler (left) & @atxmusicoffice manager Erica Shamaly (far left) receive the official recognition from TMO Director Brendon Anthony.”
In a press release from the Mayor’s Office, this statement was included: “As part of the designation, the Music Division will take over the Austin music directory responsibility from the Texas Music Office.”
The Facebook post also added that there will be “additional Texas communities working to grow their music ecosystems to become a part of the MFC program in the months to come!”
